Two Types of Relationships
The are two types of relationships. Friends and those who we are to Serve. What is the difference?
Friends are relationships of giving and receiving. It is a mutual relationship that is life giving to both people. A friend is non possessive, empowering and enjoyable.
Serving are relationships that we are called to give without any expectation of receiving in return. They are individuals that are part of our life that we are responsible to take care of regardless of how we feel, or how they act.
Many problems occur when we expect serving relationships to be friends. For example, a woman may be called to serve her mother, yet she continually has disappointment because she expects the relationship to be a friendship. Figure out which relationships are friendships, and what relationships are serving. Make sure you spend quality time with friendships so that you can have much to give into the serving relationships.
